And in a moment, my whole world had turned upside down. I could feel the Adrenaline rush like never before. It felt like all the cells in my body had activated all at once and I was going crazy!

It's not every day, life presents you with an opportunity you are so close to getting. One such opportunity knocked on my door one day, and I said "Yes"!

I was in Rishikesh for a couple of days, and what better time than to go for the Bungee Jump.  Cut to the present day, I find myself walking down the metallic ramp towards the jump cliff. While I was walking, I looked down briefly and thought "Ok, doesn't look much deep, I can do it." I was telling myself about how I came through various situations in life before and this jump was nothing in front of it. I constantly kept telling myself that I am strong, which I guess helped me in the end. I had a brief chat with the jump guide there about how to jump, and when I finally stood on the cliff, I looked down again for a brief moment and this time it blew my mind. The thought of how my bones would break, which one first, came to my mind instantly.

I gathered all my courage like never before and jumped even before they finished counting to 3. And in a moment, my whole world had turned upside down. I could feel the Adrenaline rush like never before. It felt like all the cells in my body had activated all at once and I was going crazy! Those few seconds felt like a long long time. When the rope pulled me back, I realized, I was by the rope mid-air. My head and eyes felt the rush. I screamed and let it all out!!

Jumpin Heights is the place if you want to have some crazy adrenaline rush. The vertigo feeling of being dropped off from 83 meters is just mind-blowing. Your eyes will go wide, and you will feel like you are looking at a different world altogether. In those few seconds, you will feel something which you have never felt before. I still remember, I literally had goosebumps. It sure does take a lot of guts to try out one of the extreme adventure rides, but it is all worth it! You will never get this exhilarating feeling anywhere else in your life. This is the safest place to go for a Bungee jump in India. The standards of safety regulations in place here. The place has NO history of Bungee Jump accidents whatsoever. One of the safest places to Bungee Jump. The crew members are well trained and are professionals.

So here are the details of bungee jumping in Rishikesh

Stay in Rishikesh

If you are a backpacker or budget traveler, I would suggest you stay at Zostel Rishikesh, which is about a minute walk from Jumpin Heights booking office.

Booking process

You can book your tickets online or on the spot by visiting the Jumpin Heights booking office. Sometimes due to a lot of bookings, they won't allow on the spot booking. I highly recommend booking them online at least a couple of days before the jump.

Preparing for the Jump

If it's your first time doing the jump, you just have to be prepared mentally. There is nothing else to prepare. You must be prepared that you will be jumping off a cliff and you are going to experience the free fall. Just make yourself comfortable with the idea. If you have any medical issues like knee pain or any other ailment, please consult a doctor.

Booking office timings

8 AM to 7 PM. The booking office is in Rishikesh, near to Zostel Rishikesh. Click here to get Directions to the Booking Office

Jump site timings

 9.30 AM to 5 PM. The jump is conducted on first come first serve basis at the Jump site. It doesn't matter if you have booked the jump months ago or minutes before. Jumps are allowed only during this time. During adverse weather, jumps will be suspended

Traveling to the Jump site

The JumpinHeights booking office is different from that of the jump site. The jump site is located around 17-18 km away from the booking office. You can avail the bus service from Jumpin Heights booking office to the jump site (and return journey as well) at a cost, (More on the costs later in the blog) or you can rent a motorbike in Rishikesh and then ride to the jump site. I personally wouldn't recommend renting a bike today.

Pro Tip 1: If you want to avoid waiting in the queue at the jump site, and want to finish the jump early, be there at the Jumpin Heights office at 8 AM to buy an entry ticket (its different from the booking fee) and avail the bus service by paying another ₹ 300. It would take around 40-45 minutes to reach the jump site.

Time duration

Although the duration of the jump is very short, traveling to jump site, waiting for your turn and coming back will make up the most of your day. Do not plan any important activities on that day. 

The Jump (IMPORTANT)

When you are at the jump site, you will be given only 2 attempts to jump. Also, they won't even push you. It has to come from you. Just 2. If you fail to jump in 2 attempts, you will be sent back. You won't be allowed to jump and the money will not be refunded either.
Once you complete the jump, you will be given a certificate and a badge of pride, and a bottle of water to bring down your adrenaline levels.

Coming to the important topic, below is the cost for Rishikesh Bungee Jump

• Entry fee: ₹ 100 
• Bus service: ₹ 300 (Optional - Only if you opt for the bus from booking office to jump site)
• Bungee jumping: ₹ 3550
• Giant Swing: ₹ 3550
• Flying Fox:  ₹ 1800
• Bungee Jump + Flying Fox: ₹ 4750
• Giant Swing + Flying Fox:  ₹ 4750
• Bungee Jump + Giant Swing: ₹ 6500
• Bungee Jump + Giant Swing + Flying Fox: ₹ 8250
• Video of bungee jump/ any activity: ₹ 750 for each activity

Pro Tip 2: You don't have to necessarily book the combo to avail a slight discount. Just book bungee jump. If you decide to go for Flying fox after you have completed your bungee jump, you don't have to pay the full ₹1800. You just have to pay the difference amount in the combo. i.e., just ₹ 1200 (₹ 4750 - ₹ 3550 )

Camera and other fees

Taking the Camera, Phone or even GoPro at the jump site is NOT allowed. You will be given a free locker at the jump site location, where you can keep your belongings before heading for the jump or other activities.

However, all your activities Bungee jump/ giant swing/ flying fox will be recorded in their equipment. You can have a preview of the same before deciding to buy it. The cost for each footage is ₹ 750.

Pro Tip 3: Flying fox is done with 3 people. So buy just one copy of the footage and you can share it to the other two and split up the cost.
